David Lee of the Boston Celtics denied the laws of physics against the Atlanta Hawks with a crazy pass.

This NBA season has already been full of crazy plays that have us questioning what we just watched. David Lee produced another play like this on Tuesday night for the Boston Celtics.

I’ll give you a second to sort out what happened. Did the ball ricochet off of a leg? Did he spin the ball so it would end up right where it was supposed to be? Still not sure?

Lee gets the ball a bit below the elbow, decently defended, and throws the ball behind his back perfectly placed for Jae Crowder to put in a wide open dunk. For a moment, he truly was a wizard with the ball.

This has been a rarity for the Celtics this year, seeing Lee produce big plays, but some of the plays are still there. So far this season, Lee is playing 15.2 minutes per game, averaging 6.7 points, 1.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds.

His counterpart that he passed to, Crowder, is much more of a staple to the Celtics. Crowder is playing over 30 minutes per game, averaging 11.4 points, 1.8 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Going into tonight’s game against the Hawks, the Celtics had a record of 7-6. This hasn’t been the perfect season so far by any means, but it’s gone decently for them, and they’re setting themselves up nicely to be battling for the eighth seed in the East again this season.
