Steph Curry could have been a ballet dancer

Golden State Warriors guard and 2014-2015 NBA MVP Steph Curry might have chosen the wrong career if you ask some ballet dancers.

The Golden State Warriors have a pretty incredible player and person in Steph Curry. He’s extremely talented on the court and he’s a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day off the court. His athleticism is one of a kind. His quickness and athletic abilities are drawing attention both on and off the court. Even ballet dancers are extremely impressed with what he does.

“What I see the most when I watch Steph is the incredible coordination he has with his arms, his legs and the way he handles the ball,” says dancer Michael Domitro, via New York Times. “We don’t use a ball, you know. We use a woman. But the way he dribbles the ball is the way we handle a woman on stage.”

Oakland Ballet Company artistic director Graham Lustig thinks Steph Curry might have chosen the wrong career.

“We don’t want to see any pain when dancers are finishing their final variation of something,” Lustig said. “You don’t want to see them screwing up their faces and giving the impression they can hardly make it through to the end of a solo. Steph doesn’t really look like he’s putting in a lot effort, does he? I’m not suggesting at all that he doesn’t use effort. It’s just that he doesn’t display it, and I think that’s probably at the core of what this is about.”

Steph Curry looks like someone who could do ballet. He has excellent footwork and he looks so natural on the basketball court. You know he’s trying as hard as he can, but it comes so easily and naturally for him. He’s so graceful when he’s on the basketball court. He’ll make a one-in-a-million shot look like it is routine. That’s what ballet dancers do.

Whatever Curry does in life, he’ll probably be really good at it.
