When Tuesday began, the Rams were trying to prepare for their next game while simultaneously dealing with the fallout from Jeff Fisher leaving a concussed Case Keenum in Sunday’s game. But as the day closed, the attention shifted to a new situation — one that is scary and still largely unexplained.

According to reports, wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot in the head.

The first report of the incident came from NFL Network’s Michael Silver.

The exact details of the incident aren’t yet known, but the Rams are expected to issue a late night statement in the overnight hours. This is clearly a very serious situation, even though all reports seem to indicate that Bailey’s injuries are not life threatening.

Aaron Wilson reports that Stedman was also shot in the hip.

What he was doing at the time of the shooting and why he was involved are all mysteries that would be unwise to speculate on before we know more details.
