Can the Chiefs knock off the Bills? We preview and predict.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are locking horns in a huge AFC contest, rife with potential playoff implications. Both are sitting with 5-5 marks, with Kansas City currently holding down the sixth and final seed in the postseason due to tiebreakers based on conference records.

The Chiefs have won each of their past four games, with the previous three being blowouts. In those contests, Kansas City has won by the combined total of 107-26 over the Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers.

Buffalo will be a tough test. The Bills are a very solid defensive team that mirrors Kansas City in both their physical style of play and avoidance of turnovers. Buffalo will likely be relying heavily on the ground game, knowing it has to get LeSean McCoy the ball early and often if it has a chance on the road. The Bills don’t have a great set of receivers with Sammy Watkins having a disappointing campaign and Robert Woods being average.

The Chiefs have two of the best corners in the league in rookie Marcus Peters and the veteran, Sean Smith. Kansas City should be able to shut down the outside game, something that Buffalo can only open up with some nice runs and subsequent play action.

In the end, this should be a low-scoring contest. At the moment, the Chiefs are on a roll, playing great defense. With this being their first true home game in over a month, look for a coming out party.

Pick: Kansas City 23, Buffalo 6
