Jahlil Okafor is embarrassed about his Thanksgiving street fight that was captured on video. Calling his actions dumb to media on Friday.

Jahlil Okafor found himself as one of the top Thanksgiving sports stories despite the NBA having an off day on Thursday, as a video surfaced of the former Duke star and Philadelphia 76ers rookie getting into a street fight with a heckler after losing to the Boston Celtics. The winless Sixers lottery pick took out his frustrations on a heckler and grabbing a list of headlines as expected in the process as everyone watched the video of a third overall pick lashing out at a Boston sports fan.

On Friday, Okafor had to address the headlines and the video to the local media in Philadelphia. The Sixers post player showed remorse for the incident, going as far as saying that he is embarrassed over the ordeal and the aftermath of it grabbing so much attention.

Okafor, who will play with the Sixers against the Houston Rockets tonight, also said he is still dealing with the incident with the league as well as the team per the Philly Enquirer.

From Philly.com

"The incident started because he and teammate Christian Wood, who was present, were being heckled by Boston fans over the Sixers struggles.“It was definitely dumb on my part,” Okafor said Friday of the incident. “It’s something that I am embarrassed about [He is] still dealing with the league and the team. But I’m not happy about it at all. But we are still going through the process of what we are going to do.”Okafor said he told Sixers coach Brett Brown about the altercation Thursday afternoon was when he boarding the plan to Houston. […] The 19-year-old will play in Friday night’s game against the Houston Rockets."

Okafor is saying all of the right things after the incident, but the rookie now will have to be on his best behavior for the rest of his first season in the league as his reputation definitely took a hit over the fight with a fan. With the Sixers struggling on the floor they have another distraction to deal with as Okafor will try to put the incident behind him against the Rockets Friday night.
