After Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo re-injured himself in his second game back, owner Jerry Jones has no regrets.

The book on the Cowboys’ 2015 season has been closed and everyone’s wondering what exactly went wrong with the Cowboys in 2015. The big thing that prevented the Cowboys from having any success like they had in 2014, was not having their quarterback Tony Romo for most of the season.

When Tony Romo broke his clavicle the first time, it really set the Cowboys back and they would have to scratch and claw their way if they wanted to make noise this season. Still in the terrible NFC East, it looked like a real possibility that the Cowboys could have a chance to compete by the time that Romo came back to lead the team.

Well, it looked like that was a real possibility in Romo’s first game back, when they absolutely handled the Miami Dolphins on the road in Miami. With people picking them as a savvy upset pick at home on Thanksgiving, against the Carolina Panthers, there was a feeling in the air that the Cowboys might be on the verge of turning their 2015 season around and making a run at the NFC East.

Instead that didn’t happen and Romo had a terrible performance against the Carolina Panthers before getting knocked out of the game and the season, as he re-injured the clavicle that he had broken earlier on the season. That was the last shovel of dirt on the Cowboys’ season and now everyone is looking for answers.

While Romo’s shoulder is done, there are questions of whether or not the Cowboys rushed Romo back to make an ill-fated run at a division crown, when in reality the odds of the Cowboys getting there, just seemed far too unlikely of a task for them to complete.

Despite the questions of whether or not the Cowboys rushed their quarterback back, the team’s owner is not backing down from the team’s decision and Jerry Jones has no regrets about Romo coming back to try and save the season for the Cowboys.

On his radio show on 105.3 The Fan, Jones discussed how bringing Romo back this season, was worth it for the Cowboys as they tried to get back into the playoff race.

"“I don’t think push is the word for it. We felt the risk was worth the potential for having him be the impact he can be and really having a fairytale turnaround and doing something that was special. And to me, that’s what we’re about, that’s what sports is about. You shouldn’t ever quit trying to do something extraordinary.”"

While some will point to bringing back Romo as a bad move, it’s very clear the Cowboys are a much better team when he is out on the field, than when he is not. The team couldn’t even get a win without him, so it’s amazing that they weren’t even out of the division race by the time he got back.

Now will all these injuries add up? Yes, they always do. However, Romo is one of the tougher quarterbacks as he always seems to keep coming back no matter how many injuries that he sustains. The Cowboys will always go as far as Tony Romo can take them. No one can blame them for trying and Jerry Jones is right when he says it was worth it.
