DeSean Jackson torched the Giants secondary and Kirk Cousins dropped a dime for a 66-yard Washington touchdown

DeSean Jackson finally came to life for the Washington Redskins last week, albeit in a debilitating loss, with a 56-yard touchdown. Even then, it was promising to see the big-play wide receiver in Washington actually making big plays. It looks like it might be becoming a trend for Jackson, because he broke loose again in Week 12 against the New York Giants.

Jackson ran a post patter across the middle of the field and absolutely blew by the Giants secondary, getting behind the safeties. Rewarding his efforts, Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins dropped a dime on a deep throw that left Jackson in space and allowed the speedster to find his way into the end zone to complete the 63-yard touchdown:

It’s big for the Redskins in general to get big plays like that from Jackson as it makes their offense so much more dynamic. However, it’s even bigger in this matchup with New York as a win puts Washington in the driver’s seat in the NFC East.

Considering all of the tumultuous happening in Washington over recent years, if they are able to come out atop their division and make it into the postseason, it will truly be a run that no one saw coming. If Jackson’s going to be making plays like this on a weekly basis, though, it’s entirely possible that’s what’s going to happen.
