Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is OUT.

The Falcons are sitting at 6-4, and on the edge of the NFC playoff picture. Atlanta started the season 5-0 and looking like the best team in the league, but suddenly fell apart over the last month.

On Sunday, the Falcons are hosting the Minnesota Vikings at the Georgia Dome. However, they will be without their rock in the backfield, with running back Devonta Freeman out for the day with a concussion.

Freeman has been one of the best running backs in the league, rushing for 764 yards and nine touchdowns. The Falcons have been without a consistent running game since the early years of Michael Turner, but things are finally changing for the boys who sing Rise Up.

If Atlanta wins against Minnesota, it would be 7-4 and hold a key tiebreaker. The Falcons would also move up to the fifth seed and put themselves in a position to play the NFC East winner, who is undoubtedly the worst team in the NFC playoff picture.

With Freeman on the bench, look for Tevin Coleman to get the bulk of the carries. Coleman has 231 yards and a touchdown on 59 carries.
