Paul George of the Indiana Pacers and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder were named NBA Players of the Week for the last week of November 2015.

For the final week of November 2015, the NBA announced late Monday morning that Indiana Pacers forward Paul George and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant were the NBA Players of the Week.

Both forwards had miserable 2014-15’s in the NBA for their respective teams. Paul George’s season was unfortunately ruined before it began during a Men’s National Team exhibition in Las Vegas, suffering a compound fracture in his leg before colliding with a supporting element of the goal. His Indiana Pacers missed the Eastern Conference Playoffs by a game and George only played in 91 minutes over six games last season.

Durant only appeared in 27 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder, suffering from a myriad of leg injuries including a Jones fracture of the foot that would just not heal. His Thunder missed the Western Conference Playoffs, finishing 9th in his extended absence.

George played in three NBA games last week and was magical from the floor, recording at least 33 points in each contest. His Indiana Pacers have won five straight games and look like they are back to good now that Paul George is fully healed from his gruesome leg injury.

Durant appeared in three NBA games as well last week, but after being inactive the previous six. Oklahoma City went 3-3 with Durant on the bench in a suit and tie. Since returning, Durant has scored at least 27 points in each game, with an impressive 34 point, 13 rebound, five assist, three block performance at home Friday night versus the Detroit Pistons. Oklahoma City has won all three games since Durant’s return to the lineup.

The NBA is better when two of its brightest stars in Paul George and Kevin Durant are healthy, pushing their small market teams to the brink of contention. Before George’s injury, he and Durant along with LeBron James were arguably the three best players in basketball. If George and Durant play like this the rest of the way, look out NBA!
