Basketball has evolved, and the NBA has a whole new crop of stars. Time to pick the top 5 players at each position.

The NBA season may still be in its infancy, but we can already see who the standout contributors are going to be. In years past it may have been rather easy to close your eyes and pick out the top five players at each position, however, this season certainly feels like we are entering a new era of professional basketball. New stars rise while some older ones fade, and now it’s time to update our list.

This definitely isn’t your father’s NBA. With smaller lineups, faster pace and a new emphasis on analytics, we are seeing a new brand of basketball being played at the highest level. Gone are the days when a power forward’s main job was being physical and crashing the boards. Now we see guys like Draymond Green running fast breaks and racking up assists. Point guards have transformed also. Monsters like Russell Westbrook are proving that you can run the show while playing above the rim.

So with the new nature of the NBA in mind, here are the 30 best players at each position so far this season.
