Marc Anthony isn’t just an entertainer, he’s also a representative of Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman.

Everyone in the entertainment business is involved in multiple ventures. That’s what makes them successful. No one should limit themselves to just one venture in life, because that’s boring and void of opportunities that are out and about waiting to be seized.

So it should be of no surprise that Marc Anthony has gotten into the sports agency business. Yes, the Marc Anthony. According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Anthony and his company, Magnus Media, are creating Magnus Sports, which will work alongside baseball agency, Praver Shapiro Sports Management. They also already have their first client, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman.

"The company said in a news release that it will team with a baseball agency, Praver Shapiro Sports Management — and that the group’s first major client will be Reds closer Aroldis Chapman.Praver Shapiro represents a number of Latin players, including Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, Cubs right fielder Jorge Soler, Reds pitcher Raisel Iglesias and free-agent third baseman Juan Uribe."

Anthony isn’t the first entertainer to get in the sports agency business, with Jay-Z also being involved with his own agency. However, it is a great opportunity for Anthony and his company to strike up a lucrative venture partnered with an agency that has done a great job representing Latin players in Major League Baseball.

One of things that Anthony is looking to help build is the brand of these athletes, which he talked about in a statement.

"“Beyond the cultural connection, social media also is bringing fans closer to their heroes than ever before. That means that athletes, like other entertainers, need management that can help them with both, managing their career and building a brand.”"

Anthony is smart knowing just how powerful the effect of social media on athletes is. If he as an entertainer can help build the brands of these athletes and earn them lucrative sponsors and deals, then perhaps his company will grow even further with more players.
