Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The 2015 NFL regular season is quickly drawing to a close. For some teams, that means playoff preparations. For others, that means finding any way possible to claw their way into the postseason.

Such is the case for both the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. Thanks to belonging to a weak NFC East division, both the Redskins (7-7) and the Eagles (6-8) have a chance at making the playoffs by winning out over the last two weeks of the year. Of course, it doesn’t help that both teams have to play one another in Week 16.

An Eagles win would cloud up the division even further, allowing the possibility of a two-way tie to end the season. Philadelphia lost their first match-up with the Redskins by a field goal in Week Four but could secure the tie-breaker with a convincing win on Saturday. Likewise, the Eagles decimated the New York Giants in Week Six, but will need to beat New York in the final game of the season to secure the division.

For the Redskins, it is simple; win or go home. A win over the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys to close the season would secure the division without the need of a tie-breaker. That’s important since they split the season series with the Giants, and a loss to the Eagles on Saturday would mean a split there as well.

It all comes down to winning, and both the Eagles and Redskins have a lot on the line for a Saturday game between two teams with a combined record of 13-15.
