Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay says there’s a “reasonably good chance” that Andrew Luck get’s extended this offseason.

The Indianapolis Colts had a variety of things go wrong in 2015, but they’re not making any big rash decisions with their head coach and front office and are moving forward to success in 2016.

Andrew Luck missed a good portion of the season with a lacerated kidney, which left the Colts trying to fight to end of the schedule. They fell just short in the AFC South, but they will have their quarterback and coach back next year ready to go.

With Luck eligible for an extension, the Colts are prepared to make their franchise quarterback a very rich man. There’s also a good chance that it could happen this off-season, according to owner Jim Irsay, who spoke to the Indianapolis Star.

"“If we don’t get an agreement,” Irsay says, “we still have time. And he is going to be signed. There’s a reasonably good chance we can come to that agreement this offseason. He will be here, trust me. Andrew and I have talked – we talked after the end of the season – and he couldn’t be more excited.”"

The Colts and Luck getting a done seems inevitable, but rather or not it happens this off-season remains to be seen. Irsay has never been afraid to shell out the big bucks and he will pay whatever it takes to get Luck signed long-term.

With that type of history of spending on talent, it’s easy to see why Irsay believes that there’s a good chance of a deal happening this offseason in Indianapolis.
