Kristaps Porzingis had a block party on one possession against the Celtics

New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis has been setting the NBA on fire for most of the season, but the big Latvian has taken it to a whole new level as of late. Porzingis has been a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor and, in terms of his defense, the Boston Celtics found out the hard way on Tuesday night that Three Six Latvia is not to be trifled with.

The play started with Porzingis getting back on defense in transition and denying Marcus Smart at the rim. Jared Sullinger caught the blocked shot and tried to go up with an attempt of his own, but Porzingis denied that attempt as well. Jonas Jerebko tried a third time for the Celtics and, you guessed it, KP wasn’t having any of that either:

Porzingis really is incredible considering how young and inexperienced he is. The Knicks rookie at 7-3 and with incredible length is able to pull things like this play off, but also has the instincts and timing already to make that play and, of course, knock down 30-foot jumpers like they’re nothing.

It’s becoming safer and safer to say that Porzingis is going to be a major problem for the rest of the league for many years to come, if he isn’t already at that point already.
