Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby was in the right place at the right time to score a hat trick against the Ottawa Senators.

In a high-scoring affair, Sidney Crosby scored three unanswered goals to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a two-goal lead over the Ottawa Senators. Crosby’s hat trick came as a result of being in the right place at the right time on the offensive end of the ice.

His first goal tied the game for the Penguins at 4-4. It was a nice wrist shot that found space through the crowded ice into the net. Crosby’s teammate provided a nice screen to block the goalie from seeing where the puck was going.

The second goal was great teamwork by the Penguins. Crosby was fed the puck nicely and found a wide-open net to give Pittsburgh the lead, 5-4.

Crosby’s goal to give the Penguins a two-goal lead and the star a hat-trick in the game came as a result of poor play by their opponents. The Senators player whiffed on clearing the puck out of danger with Crosby collecting the puck and sending it into the net. It wasn’t the prettiest goal by Crosby, but it was a timely goal for the NHL star.

The Penguins have found success in recent seasons due to Crosby. On Tuesday he showed why he is one of the best NHL players currently in the league and all-time.
