Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried botched an alley-oop so bad that he knocked the ball off himself out of bounds.

Not all alley-oops always workout.

However, the ones that don’t end up working out, don’t usually end up as bad as the one that Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried botched against the Utah Jazz on the road Wednesday night.

With Faried in great position to catch and slam home a lob, he mishandled the pass and slammed it straight down into his leg. The ball then bounced straight off his foot and bounced out of bounds.

As Faried was on the floor, the Jazz and Nuggets both stood there on the floor trying to figure out what exactly they just witnessed Faried do.

Every now and then, a play comes along that’s so awesome that it probably couldn’t be done again if a player tried. This is probably the reverse of those scenarios, as Faried probably couldn’t botch an alley-oop attempt that bad if he tried again.

To get the ball bounce off himself like that is what makes this one of the more hilarious gaffes in the NBA this season. The good news for Faried is that he’s earned himself a slot this week on Shaqtin’ A Fool.
