Who were the three biggest winners and losers from 2016 National Signing Day?

National Signing Day 2016 has finally come to a close and if your favorite school landed all, or most, of its targets, it was likely a celebratory 24-hour period. If the school you root for did not land most, or any, of its top targets, it was one of those signing days which you probably would like to forget.

Some schools jumped in the rankings drastically on Wednesday after landing a number of top recruits, looking to make a difference in future years on the field.

However, just because a signing class isn’t elite does not mean that there won’t be success translated to the field of play. Often times, recruiting services miss on rating these kids and occasionally, some fall through the cracks. Many NFL stars today were actually low-rated stars and they have made it by proving doubters wrong.

That’s not what signing day is all about, though. It’s about who is rated high, such as the five-stars and top-100 recruits. There were plenty who decided on Wednesday and that comes as a special time in these teens’ lives while the schools who were hoping to land them were either ecstatic or disappointed.

Guys like No. 1 overall player Rashan Gary had yet to make an announcement while other top 50 players waited for their opportunity as well. Gary, who ended up choosing Michigan, took to ESPN to make his announcement — that’s how huge recruiting has gotten.
