With the NBA season nearing the All-Star break, there have been plenty of NBA rumors about the trade deadline.

In addition to the normal trade rumors of this time of year, there have also been a lot of rumors about the upcoming free agency class. While Kevin Durant is the big fish in this upcoming free agency, there are also a lot of other good players who will be testing the waters. One of those players is Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks had a great 2014-15 season, but that great season also began to affect their roster as DeMarre Carroll signed with the Toronto Raptors due to the Hawks didn’t have the money to be able to sign him in addition to Paul Millsap.

This offseason, the Hawks will have arguably their second best player after Millsap heading to free agency, as Horford will be an option for a lot of teams. Alongside Millsap, Horford has been playing as a bit of an undersized center for the Hawks, as he is more of a natural power forward and one team that is interested in making him a power forward again is the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons will be looking to pair Horford with their young center, Andre Drummond, which would become one of the best frontcourts in the NBA.

Horford has played his entire career with the Hawks and has been very productive for them since they took him third-overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. In his career, Horford is averaging 14.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Due to his success with the Hawks, Horford will likely receive multiple max offers, which is one of the reasons why there have also been rumblings about the Hawks possibly looking to trade Horford before the trade deadline if they don’t think they’ll be able to re-sign him.
