Who are the 18 finalists to be enshrined in the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016?

Almost all of the greatest players to ever play the game of football in the NFL are enshrined in Canton, Ohio in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There are currently 295 players enshrined in Canton and there are 18 figures who could join them this year. Of the 15 players, some of them are shoo-ins, while others are likely going to get in. Then there are some who might never get in.

Regardless, to even be nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame is an incredible honor. It’s an acknowledgement that a player was one of the best of the best football players in the entire world. That is especially true with this year’s 18 finalists as each of them had memorable careers.

Will the NFL see its 300th inductee this season? It’s quite possible. The league dictates that only five modern era figures can be enshrined in Canton in a calendar year. Looking at this group of players, it’s hard to say that you can’t find five deserving guys. There are some controversial figures for sure, but that shouldn’t stop five guys from being enshrined.

Let’s take a look at 18 of the finest gentlemen that the NFL has ever seen.
