No. 17 Miami Hurricanes vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Getting off to a hot start to begin the season by taking down ranked teams such as Utah and Butler, the Miami Hurricanes were taken down a peg with a tough home loss to Northeastern. The Hurricanes didn’t lose another non-conference game, but since ACC play began, they have gone 6-3 with losses to Virginia, Clemson and North Carolina State.

Senior guard Shelton McClellan leads the way for the Hurricanes, offensively, averaging 16.1 points and shooting about 53 percent from the field and 49 percent from long-range. Another guy to keep an eye on is big man Tonye Jekiri who is averaging about eight points and 9.9 rebounds per game.

Georgia Tech hasn’t exactly had the most successful season and the struggles have really begun as ACC play has. The Yellow Jackets have lost seven of their first nine conference to start the year and it looks like they’ll need a miracle if they want to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010.

Marcus Georges-Hunt has been the top player through 22 games for the Yellow Jackets, averaging 15.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Adam Smith is close behind with 14.5 points per game while shooting over 41 percent from three-point range. Charles Mitchell has been the best big man, averaging a double-double for the Yellow Jackets.
