Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli will undergo surgery on his left knee with no timetable to return.

The Golden State Warriors were a team that stayed remarkably healthy when they won their NBA Championship this season. This season, the team has had to deal with being banged up a little bit and yet they’re off to a record pace as they chase down the best record in NBA history.

On Monday, San Francisco Chronicle reporter Rusty Simmons announced that Warriors center Festus Ezeli would be undergoing surgery on his left knee. He also reported it’s just exploratory, but there is no timetable for his return.

For the Warriors, Ezeli was an effective member of the center rotation that was really beginning to take off over the last couple of the season. It would make all the sense in the world for the Warriors to go really small in certain sets with Draymond Green rotating over to the center spot when Bogut hits the bench. It could also open more time for Marreese Speights as well.

The NBA season is now at that point where the stretch run of the season really begins to wear on guys as the playoffs draw near and now more than ever, the Warriors are going to have to keep up their mindset, if they’re going to tackle history.

They’ve already dealt with some injuries this season at certain spots, but as long as Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are healthy, the Warriors should be just fine.
