The New York Yankees trolled the Chicago Cubs‘ lack of World Series success with a Twitter poll.

The New York Yankees hit the Chicago Cubs right where it hurts in a battle of Twitter accounts on Monday. It’s common in sports for sports franchises to have fun with each other on Twitter and take subtle digs at each other, but the Yankees’ Twitter absolutely took a torch to the Cubs’ Twitter.

After a fan had told the Cubs’ Twitter account that the Yankees’ Twitter was way better than theirs, the Cubs decided to hold a poll on Twitter and ask fans which account was better.

While the Cubs’ Twitter poll was harmless, the Yankees’ Twitter decided to deliver a swift kick to the groin and go below the belt by mentioning the Cubs’ lack of World Series titles since 1908.

Making fun of the Cubs and their inability to win a World Series in the last century is one of the easiest jokes to make and well doesn’t really take much creativity to do. While it is a low blow, it’s also pretty savage and the Yankees’ Twitter showed no regard for human life here.

It’s brutal, but it’s also incredibly hilarious.
