With the Sacramento Kings looking to improve their defense, these are the five trades they need to make.

The Sacramento Kings are in a flux with their decision on what to do with George Karl and despite the never-ending saga of Karl in Sacramento, they appear to be willing to stick with him for the time being. With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, the Kings are looking to add defense as they look to make a run at the final spot in the playoffs.

Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears reported that the George Karl’s conversation with Vivek Randek was about improving the team’s defense and that’s the direction they’re heading toward the trade deadline.

They’ve been falling down the standings lately, but they feel if they can add more defense around DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, then they can become an even better basketball team.

The good news is that there are trades that they can make at the deadline to help themselves out. With plenty of teams looking to be sellers at the trade deadline as teams bottom out to chase a draft pick, the Kings can try and pry some players away.

Although the Kings don’t have much in terms of assets in the mold of draft picks, they have some players on the roster that can certainly be traded. Here are five trades the Kings need to make at the trade deadline.
