The Los Angeles Clippers have announced that they have suspended forward Blake Griffin for four games after hitting a staff member

The Los Angeles Clippers have been doing well despite the loss of forward Blake Griffin due to injury. They will be without him for at least a few more weeks until he gets healthy. Once he gets healthy, they will still miss him for four more games because he has been suspended by the Clippers.

Griffin will also have his wages withheld for an additional game as punishment for the fight with a staff member. The fight with a staff member wound up causing Griffin to break his hand. He will miss a total of five game checks as punishment. Each of those game checks will be donated to charities that focus on disadvantaged youth.

Losing Blake Griffin for more time could hurt the Clippers. They have done well without him, but long-term, the Clippers are clearly a better team when Griffin is on the court. Griffin leads the Clippers with 23.2 points per game and is second on the team with 8.7 rebounds per game. He has 5.0 assists per game as well. His PER (player efficiency rating) of 23.6 is second on the Clippers to point guard Chris Paul.
