CM Punk was one of the people that gave Daniel Bryan a tribute for his retirement and it was awesome.

Monday night was a very rough night for all professional wrestling fans, as we all had to say goodbye to Daniel Bryan. After battling through a lot of injuries recently, especially concussions, Bryan finally had to face the music and hang up the boots. On RAW to close the show, he was able to go out there and say goodbye to everyone in one of the more emotional speeches that we have ever seen.

Throughout the day on Monday and even after the speech was given, Bryan was getting tributes from all over the place, especially his peers. CM Punk was one of the folks to offer up his thanks for Bryan and everything that he has done.

After Bryan had made his speech on Monday night, CM Punk posted this simple tweet on Twitter that perfectly explains his relationship with the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

For those that don’t know, that’s a GIF from the traditional handshake the two shared before one of their matches in Ring of Honor, perfectly adhering to the Code of Honor.

There was a good portion of time where these two were considered the consensus best wrestlers in the world, and that didn’t change really even when both were in the big leagues of WWE. They were able to have some awesome matches there as well, proving just how crucial both of them were to the wrestling scene in this generation.

Really awesome gesture from Punk, who is getting set to make his UFC debut later this year against Mickey Gall.
