Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love had to leave Wednesday’s game against the Lakers due to a left shoulder injury

The Cleveland Cavaliers sit at the top of the Eastern Conference. An underrated reason for that has been power forward Kevin Love. Love’s stats might not be the best but his versatility and athleticism demand attention from other teams. That attention allows his teammates to face better matchups. Love’s mere presence on the court helps the Cavaliers stretch their offense.

Love had to leave Wednesday’s game against the Lakers due to a left shoulder injury.

Love hurt his shoulder as he was fighting for a rebound against the Lakers. It’s worth noting that Kevin Love suffered a very similar shoulder injury last season in the playoffs that caused him to miss the rest of the playoffs. Love is an important part of the Cavaliers offense. He has flourished lately under new head coach Tyronn Lue. The Cavaliers forward has been more productive offensively under Lue and Lue has made it a point to get him more involved.

Love is officially out for the rest of the game according to the team and it remains to be seen exactly how much time Love will miss. Any shoulder injury with Love should be a concern.
