Ezequiel Lavezzi has decided that he will play in China following the current campaign, signing with Hebei Fortune.

With Ezequiel Lavezzi’s contract with Paris St-Germain set to expire following the season, there had been a ton of speculation as to where the Argentine would end up next year. Lavezzi is free to sign with whoever he would like once his contract is up with the French giants, and many had suggested he could end up back in Italy or start a new adventure in England. However, neither will be the case.

According to multiple reports emerging from across Europe, the 30-year-old has opted for a completely different destination. Lavezzi has come to terms with Chinese Super League club, Hebei Fortune. Italian transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, is reporting that the Chinese club offered Lavezzi a mammoth contract that will have him earn around €30 million ($34 million) over the next two years. Hebei Fortune won’t have to pay a transfer fee for the player either, because he is a free agent once the season ends.

Lavezzi has made just three starts for PSG in league play this season, but has made 13 appearances off of the bench. The Argentine international is currently in his fourth season with the French club, having won the Ligue 1 title every year he has been in Paris. Lavezzi also spent five seasons in Serie A with Napoli before making the move to France.

PSG are cruising to their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 championship, sitting 24 points ahead of second place, Monaco. They will be in action next on Saturday, when they host Lille at  11 a.m. ET.
