LeSean McCoy: No arrest warrants expected Thursday
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is not expected to have arrest warrant placed on him by Thursday.
LeSean McCoy has great judgment on the football field, but apparently it might stop there. McCoy was thrown out off a club in Philadelphia last week after he and a former NFL player allegedly assaulted a pair of black off-duty police officers, according to ESPN. While an arrest warrant for McCoy might be coming, it is not expected to be dealt by Thursday.
McCoy spent the first six seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded last offseason to the Bills in exchange for middle linebacker Kiko Alonso. McCoy has not been charged with a crime to this point, but it has been alleged that the fight started over bottles in the nightclub. Eventually, the officers were on the ground and McCoy allegedly took part in kicking and stomping on the officers, who were sent to a hospital to treat injuries.
If this comes out to be true, McCoy will face the very real possibility of jail time. While a crime of that nature is serious in any circumstance, doing it to a police officer makes this all the more problematic. It stands to reason that the police department is not going to go easy on a man who might have hurt one of their own, let alone two.
