Chris Bosh withdraws from 2016 NBA All-Star Game
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has withdrawn from the 2016 NBA All-Star Game.
Miami Heat power forward was set to represent his team and the Eastern Conference in the 2016 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, when the league’s best players take the floor at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
According to Yahoo and the Vertical Podcast’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Bosh has withdrawn from the All-Star Game with an unspecified injury. Wojnarowski then states that the Atlanta Hawks‘ Al Horford will replace Bosh and is currently on his way to Toronto.
The news about Bosh is certainly concerning and it has come from out of nowhere. While it’s not known what the injury is at the moment, Bosh and the Heat have the stretch run of the season ahead of them as they look to secure a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Not having Bosh for an extended period of time would be a huge blow to the Heat and it could very well affect their plans for the trade deadline next Thursday. Bosh missed the end of last season with a blood clot and the team was very careful the rest of the way with him.
The timing of this whole thing is odd as well. The Heat last played on Tuesday, and the word is just now coming out. Hopefully he can get back on the court soon for Miami and this time off will serve him well.
