The NBA trade deadline is rapidly approaching and as we speculate what might happen, here’s a look at five teams who could be ready to make the most significant deals.

As the NBA trade deadline draws ever closer, basketball fans everywhere are getting more adventurous with their trade machine experiments and suggestions. Will we see many high-profile players move? Does anyone really want to trade for Dwight Howard? Will the Boston Celtics finally land a superstar? There are plenty of questions going around right now, so we’re going to start by looking into the five teams that are primed to make multiple deals or pull off something big.

There aren’t many teams around the league that will have ruled out the possibility of a trade. Of course, franchises that set the bar like the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors won’t be looking for change, because they really don’t need to. Especially for the Warriors, when you’re already the best, don’t fix it if it isn’t broken. It’s simple, yet so true.

Other top teams in the Western Conference such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers could benefit from minor trades to tweak their second unit, but otherwise they won’t be looking to make any major adjustments. So, if you think that Blake Griffin may be on his way out of L.A., forget it.

When looking to the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers have still come up in trade rumors despite already having so much talent. It makes perfect sense, though, as they don’t have a power forward who is capable of defending the likes of Draymond Green once they make it to the NBA Finals. Meanwhile, shooters such as Jared Dudley and Kyle Korver have also been associated with the Cavs.

And these are just the top teams. The organizations we’ll be looking at here are the real ones to look out for.

Besides the Celtics, there are some other teams ready to pull off big trades, too. Let’s start with another top team from the Eastern Conference.
