Devils forward Joseph Blandisi got his team on the board with a jaw dropping between the legs goal

The New Jersey Devils entered their Saturday matinee against the Philadelphia Flyers needing two points to move into a tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Devils forward Joseph Blandisi took matters into his own hands by scoring an absolutely incredible goal. He scored it between his legs while shooting at roughly a 90 degree angle.

Blandisi has given the Devils a much needed spark in their scoring. Through 17 games, he now has four goals and seven assists for 11 points. Joseph Blandisi was drafted by the Devils in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Draft and has been a diamond in the rough for them as they fight for a position in the playoffs.

The 21-year-old forward dominated in the OHL and has been doing basically the same thing with the Devils. How he managed to get that shot off and put it through such a tiny hole while not knowing where he was shooting is incredible. The Devils will need more goals like this from Blandisi if they want to make the playoffs.

Should New Jersey make the playoffs, it would be one heck of a story. Some believed that the Devils were the worst team in the league coming into the season, but this group has been consistent throughout behind great goaltending and a terrific power play.
