Aaron Gordon lost a very close dunk contest to Zach LaVine. Some believe that he was robbed, and that his last dunk shouldn’t have been scored a 47. While others had a bit too much fun at his expense: /

That’s right, somebody changed Aaron Gordon’s “position” to Zach LaVine’s Daddy. Oh Internet, where is your chill?

At least now, a lot more people know who Aaron Gordon is. Outside of this troll, the social media reaction to his performance was overwhelmingly positive, and while LaVine may not compete for a third straight year, you can be sure that Gordon will be back in the dunk contest next year with more fire this time around. Although we all sincerely hope that LaVine comes back next year since that is a rematch that everyone wants to see.

Gordon and LaVine put on an unforgettable show in a night that will go down as the best Dunk Contest since Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins faced off. They proved that you don’t need to do something over the top like dunk over a car or don a Superman cape. Just going back to basics, and doing something that nobody else can, is what makes the dunk contest truly memorable.
