After Roy Williams refused to call a timeout late against the Duke Blue Devils, Twitter ripped him for not doing so.

The rivalry game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday night, was another classic game between the two that saw the Blue Devils erase a deficit late and steal a big win on the road. On the final possession of the game, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams refused to call a timeout and set up a play and the Tar Heels got their shot blocked.

It was a strange move and the announcers were puzzled as North Carolina was moving the ball. After the game, Williams admitted that he made a mistake by not calling a timeout on the play that might have helped his team win the game.

With such a blunder, Twitter wasn’t too kind to Williams and ripped the Tar Heels’ coach royally.

Needless to say, a loss to their biggest rival when they had a chance to run away with the game, has left North Carolina fans very upset. It was an absolute huge mistake by Williams that he normally doesn’t make. However, when it comes against Duke, there’s no room for error.
