After success by their rivals this year, the Ohio State Buckeyes are looking into holding part of their spring practice in Florida next year.

Several weeks ago, the Michigan Wolverines set the world on fire (well, at least in the eyes of those power college football programs in the South) when they held a week of their spring football practice in Florida. Spending time at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, the move was hailed as a success and even had some coaches in the state applauding Jim Harbaugh for thinking outside the box.

It appears that the Wolverines may have started a trend when it comes to teams relocating for at least a portion of their spring schedule. At a golf tournament held by legendary college quarterback Tim Tebow, Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer said that his school is looking into the idea of doing the same thing next season:

Meyer wouldn’t go into detail about where he would hold practice (since Michigan seems to have the Tampa Bay area as their new part time home). Based on his time as the two time national championship winning coach of the Florida Gators, Meyer has an idea of where the best area is to bring his Buckeyes…both for their own interest and where he can go to attract the most recruits to leave the Sunshine State and head north.
