Whether it’s running a pro-style or some variation of the spread, here are the top 10 best returning quarterbacks in college football heading into spring practice

Entering spring practice, there are several dynamic quarterbacks returning to their respective schools. When a team has a top-tier quarterback, usually that can indicate a successful season that upcoming fall. That could mean anything from a 10-win season to playing in a conference championship game to even making the College Football Playoff.

College football is unique in that there really isn’t one right way to have success in quarterbacking an offense. Some schools favor a traditional pro-style pocket passer to move the chains aerially. Others like to get the football out of the quarterback’s hands as quickly as possible in a spread offense. Several teams like to use dual-threat passers that can also make plays with their feet to wreak havoc on opposing defenses.

Across the Power 5 and even a few in the Group of 5, there are several elite quarterbacks either under center or in shotgun formation waiting to pounce on opposing defenses en route to what could hopefully be a very special season at their university in 2016.

With spring practice in many schools already under way, here are the top 10 returning starting quarterbacks at the FBS level of college football.
