When will fans be able to watch the 2016 MLB Opening Day?

With the spring season having come upon us days ago, it was a sign that baseball season is fast approaching. A chaotic offseason already passed by and Spring Training came and went in a blink of the eye.

With all this done, it means it’s time for the MLB Opening Day, which begins the baseball season for the next six months.

The Sunday MLB Opening Day will consist of three games on Apr. 3.

At 1:05 PM ET, the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates will face off at PNC Park. Adam Wainwright, who missed most of last season due to injury, will be pitching against Francisco Liriano.

At 4:05 PM ET, the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays will battle in the first American League matchup of the season. Chris Archer will take the mound for Tampa and look to continue his work from the 2015 season. Marcu Stroman will take the hill for Toronto after missing almost all of last year due to a torn ACL. He will be part of the top of the Blue Jays’ rotation for the foreseeable future.

To cap it off, there will be a World Series rematch between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. Matt Harvey will take the hill for the Mets and face Edinson Volquez of the Royals. Kansas City defeated the Mets 4-1 in the 2015 World Series, so New York will be looking for some revenge by taking a season-opening win.

Monday will feature the traditional MLB Opening Day. 12 games will be seen on a variety of networks beginning at 1:05 PM ET with a playoff rematch of the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees. The evening will close with the Chicago Cubs vs Los Angeles Angels and the Chicago White Sox vs the Oakland Athletics.

Baseball season is officially back and it should be another fun one with these games kicking it off.
