Pablo Sandoval had his belt bust on him while swinging at a pitch.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval is well known for having a very wide girth. Even the team has been critical of him and his inability to maintain a healthy playing weight.

Perhaps Sandoval should lose some weight because the Kung Fu Panda had his belt bust during a swing against the Toronto Blue Jays.

What an embarrassing moment for Sandoval. He has recently lost his starting job due to inferior performance, getting beaten out by Travis Shaw. His start against the Blue Jays was his first game of the season. Shaw got the start at first base while designated hitter David Ortiz got a day off. Hanley Ramirez moved from first base to Ortiz’s usual designated hitter spot.

Sandoval has been a huge disappointment in Boston so far. His .245 batting average, .292 on base percentage, .366 slugging percentage, .658 OPS, 10 home runs, 47 runs batted in, 43 runs, 25 doubles, and 25 walks were all career lows for the high-priced third baseman.

Pablo Sandoval’s 115 hits are the second lowest of his career. He had 112 hits in 2012, but he only played in 108 games in that season. It will be hard for him to get playing time if he keep on struggling.
