True freshman Jacob Eason has a great chance to be the starting quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs. Here are five reasons that he should start in 2016.

The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2016 Spring Game, better known by members of Dawg Nation as G-Day, was an overwhelming success for the Georgia football program. First-year head coach and former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was able to get close to 100,000 of his closest friends to show up for the Bulldogs’ glorified scrimmage at Sanford Stadium on April 16th.

A few of the highlights from Saturday in Athens were Atlanta rap icon Ludacris performing before kickoff, Heisman hopeful Nick Chubb dressing out for G-Day after his gruesome ACL tear (he didn’t play, however), and perhaps most importantly, true freshman quarterback Jacob Eason made his first claim at possibly being the starting quarterback for Georgia in 2016.

Eason was the No. 2 pro-style passer of the 2016 high school recruiting class out of Lake Stevens, Washington. He committed to Georgia back in July 2014 and honored his commitment to the Bulldogs even after the late-November firing of former head coach and quarterback guru Mark Richt.

Eason shined perhaps the brightest of the three potential starting quarterback candidates for Georgia in 2016 over rising junior Brice Ramsey and senior/2015’s starter Greyson Lambert.

Lambert went 10-2 as the starter in 2015 and is still probably the favorite to start Week 1 at the Georgia Dome against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff. However, here are five reasons that true freshman Eason can win the job outright before the September “neutral-site” opener.

Next: 5. Doesn't seem afraid of the big stage.
