When will Finn Balor join WWE main roster?

After Finn Balor shockingly lost his NXT Championship at a live event, when could he be moving to the WWE main roster?

At WWE live events, titles never change when they’re put on the line. These matches are used to make house shows feel more important. NXT does the same, but they threw that all away on Thursday night with Samoa Joe shockingly defeating Finn Balor for the NXT Championship.

Many thought this title change would happen at NXT TakeOver: Dallas with all the speculation about Balor coming to the main roster. Clearly, NXT fooled everyone by having this happen at a live event.

The first thing accomplished here was letting Balor become the longest reigning NXT Champion, which happened earlier this week. That may have been a motivation for this. Plus, the next live special isn’t for another six weeks, so NXT may not have wanted to drag this out.

The biggest reason of all may be the impending call-up of the Demon to the main roster. He has been speculated to be coming up for months ever since the rumors of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows coming to WWE made their way on the internet.

Well, with Anderson and Gallows now in WWE, along with this title change, it seems things are moving very fast.

It’s possible now that Balor debuts on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw. While not confirmed, it seems the pieces have been lined up for this to happen very soon.

Option B is for Finn to debut at WWE Payback, which takes place on May 1. Calling him up for a pay-per-view would be a bigger deal, so this may be the most likely option. WWE may also want to let this title loss sink in for a week before a possible arrival for the former NJPW star.

To top it off, we might finally be getting that long-awaited Bullet Club/Balor Club/Bulletproof faction. The teases have been there for months and now it could happen any day, unless WWE pulls a swerve.

Then, there is this gem that was supposedly said on Thursday night following the bout.

So Finn Balor may be coming to Raw and SmackDown soon. When he does, fans will be in for a treat to see one of WWE’s most talented stars.
