5 ways Seth Rollins can return to the WWE

At a time when many of the top superstars in the WWE are out of action due to injury, perhaps the most anticipated return of 2016 is that of Seth Rollins. The former WWE heavyweight champion has been out of action since last fall, due to a devastating knee injury suffered during a non-televised match. The injury, which saw him tear his MCL, ACL and median meniscus, brought to a close his run as champ and immediately changed the course of events for the rest of the WWE year through WrestleMania.

The injury came with a timetable of a six-to-nine month rehabilitation and return, which Rollins is still in the midst of today. If the 2015 Slammy Award winner for Superstar of the Year can continue to progress in his rehab efforts, it would put him back in the ring in shooting range of SummerSlam, the promotion’s second biggest event of the year.

A mid-year return for Rollins would provide the biggest wild card in the WWE deck just in time to mix things up. With a turf war for direction of the company brewing, as well as a championship that he still never lost having now been gained by one of his biggest rivals, Rollins’ return will instantly be a bundle of dynamite into any number of scenarios.
