A comprehensive ranking of every team’s worst pick in the NBA Draft.

The NBA Draft can often be a crapshoot. Unless you’re in the top five, you can never be sure if that pick will translate into the majors. And even then, a team might fall in love with a player during the NCAA Tournament only to have them turn into a total bust.

There’s no shortage of storylines and compelling players to watch for in this year’s upcoming draft. Obviously, all eyes will be on Ben Simmons, who is widely projected to be picked first overall, but there’s also tons of speculation as to where star seniors Buddy Hield and Denzel Valentine will fall and which team will take on Thon Maker fresh out of high school. There’s no telling how their success will translate to the NBA, or how they will fit in whatever team’s system they play for.

That is why the importance of scouting cannot be overstated, and for a lot of these teams, they thought that the player they were getting was going to be the real deal. Key to a prospect’s success is their entire body of work. It won’t matter what level of competition they faced in college or overseas, as it doesn’t hold a candle to the NBA.

While some teams are better at drafting than others, everyone has made at least one mistake, and these are the biggest ones made by every team.
