Isaiah Thomas pulls off a fantastic crossover dribble that completely fools Dennis Schroder for an easy layup for the Boston Celtics in transition.

The Eastern Conference first-round playoff series between the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics has featured some terrific point guard play. While Atlanta may have the upper number with both Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder, Boston’s Isaiah Thomas was an NBA All-Star this season for a reason.

Thomas goes coast to coast on the Hawks’ defense in transition and makes a fool out our Schroder with an all-time great crossover dribble. Thomas makes the easy transition layup early in Game 6 of this tight rivalry series.

While Atlanta has the higher ceiling of the two rosters in this first round series, perhaps Thomas best epitomizes the heart and soul of the 2015-16 Celtics, a team that competes like no other.

Though both teams finished with identical 48-34 regular season records, Atlanta held the head-to-head tiebreaker and thus earned home court advantage in this No. 4/No. 5 first round series.

If Boston is going to come out this elimination game in Game 6, Thomas will have to be the spark that ignites the Celtics’ offense. He scored over 40 points in Game 4 back in the TD Garden, as his Celtics topped Atlanta in overtime.

The home team has won all five previous games in this series. Will that trend continue here in Game 6 in Boston with Atlanta up three games to two? Regardless of series outcome, these are two fantastically well-coached, defense-first basketball teams, making for a great first-round series between the Eastern Conference rivals.
