Looking at the Day 2 selections in the 2016 NFL Draft for the Washington Redskins

After a surprisingly successful 2015 NFL season for the Washington Redskins, they undoubtedly entered this offseason in an odd position. While it would appear that they have some glaring holes throughout their roster, you can’t really argue with the fact that made it into the postseason last year—albeit out of an injured, battered, and ridiculously weak NFC East. Their biggest move up until recently was retaining Kirk Cousins with the franchise tag, but that of course was made to look much smaller by Washington signing cornerback Josh Norman when he shockingly hit the open market.

With the need to still improve and with some big signings from this offseason, what the Redskins chose to do in the 2016 NFL Draft was highly intriguing . They started off on Thursday night in the first round by first trading back one pick and then using the No. 22 selection to give Cousins another playmaker and weapon on the outside in wide receiver Josh Doctson out of TCU. Now fans have to wonder what the Redskins have in store for Day 2 of the of the NFL Draft on Friday when Rounds 2 and 3 will take place.

Washington will pick twice on Day 2, owning a selection in each of the two rounds. They’ll make their first selection with the No. 53 overall pick in the draft and then their other with the No. 84 overall selection. We’ll see if they look at some of their bigger needs or continue to approach this offseason with an air of unpredictability.
