It shapes up to be a busy day in Major League Baseball with five games this afternoon and ten more on tap for under the lights tonight. With all 30 teams in action today, there are plenty of options to choose from if you’re looking for a starting rotation upgrade for your season-long team. These scheduled starters who are available on the waiver wire also make solid value plays for DFS fantasy basketball.  To see who I think are the top five for today, check out my fantasy baseball streaming pitchers on the following slides.

More from Baltimore Orioles

Each day in this daily post you can find my top 5 scheduled starters that are available in over 50% of ESPN leagues.  I’ve included their ownership level in ESPN leagues in parentheses after their name at the top of each slide. These pitchers aren’t usually big names that it’s impossible to add in season-long leagues or that cost an exorbitant amount of your DFS salary cap. However, I think they can step up and produce solid outings given their current form, opponent, and potential to put together solid numbers. Each morning, you can find these “best available” starting pitchers on our FanSided fantasy baseball hub.

Yesterday, my top 5 fantasy baseball streaming pitchers went 1-2 with a 4.80 ERA in one of my worst days of the week so far.  They did pick up 24 K’s in 30 innings while walking just eight. My best start of the day came from Alex Wood (pictured above) who went seven strong innings allowing just one run and striking out nine, but he received a no-decision after the Dodger bullpen ultimately gave up a game-winning home run to Matt Kemp. I started this feature for this season at the beginning of last week and my first 60 picks have gone a total of 25-21 with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.353 WHIP.  My fantasy baseball streaming pitchers have also picked up a pretty solid 7.73 K/9, and hopefully today’s picks can move those numbers in the right direction.

If you want to discuss your fantasy baseball streaming pitchers, other waiver wire pickups, offer alternative options, or let me know how our fantasy baseball coverage can be more of a help to you, find me throughout the day @FansidedFantasy on Twitter. In the coming weeks as the NBA playoffs start to slow down, we’ll be able to expand our daily league fantasy baseball coverage, so stay tuned.

It’s time to get underway with these top 5 fantasy baseball streaming pitchers for this full Saturday on the diamond.
