Toronto Raptors vs. Miami Heat

The Toronto Raptors exorcised their NBA Playoffs demons in a big way by surviving a grueling and nerve-reacking seven-game series in the first round and will now be up against a much tougher test in the Eastern Conference semifinals in the Miami Heat. The question as both teams head to the Air Canada Centre for Game 1 on Tuesday night is whether the Raptors getting over the hump will alleviate the pressure or if that pressure will only ramp up going forward.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan have obviously been big for the Raptors all season and were big in the first round—but they’re undoubtedly going to need to be even better against the Heat. Perhaps the overlooked key for the Raptors in this upcoming series, though, will be the play of Jonas Valanciunas and Bismack Biyombo on the interior and how they can deal with the Hassan Whiteside led frontcourt of Miami. As for the Heat, Whiteside will be a factor, but so too will be the members in the backcourt in Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic. Wade was big all of Round 1 for the Heat, but Dragic didn’t really show up until Game 7. If Miami is going to beat the Raptors, we’ll have to see if the point guard can step up.

This game will be broadcast on TNT, which means that Watch TNT will have the live stream and can be accessed using a cable or satellite subscription.
