The Miami Heat have issued an official statement now saying Chris Bosh is out of the playoffs

As the Miami Heat are making their run through the 2016 NBA Playoffs, there’s been a bit of a distraction in the form of the saga involving Chris Bosh. Bosh has been fighting to get back on the court some time during these playoffs, but the Heat have been standing their ground in keeping him off the court.

On Wednesday, the team issued an official statement noting that Bosh indeed will not be taking the court the rest of the season.

Bosh had returned this season after suffering some scary blood clots last season, but unfortunately, those clots returned and Bosh has been off the court for the Heat since. It was more or less understood that his season was over with, but throughout the course of the past few days we’ve been learning through reports that he is vehemently fighting to get back out there.

One of the most recent reports actually noted that Bosh would be taking his case to get back onto the court to the union, showing just how serious he is about the issue.

In the end, though, the best scenario is too keep Bosh off of the court until doctors feel he’s fully ready. While any injury is serious to an extent, blood clots are nothing to fool around with and the last thing that anyone would want to see would be a senseless tragedy on the court.

The Heat took a 1-0 series lead over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night with an overtime win.
