Here’s how the 2003 NBA Draft should have gone down in hindsight.

Every now and then, a draft will come along that will change the landscape of the NBA for the next decade or more. It was a draft that was filled with endless superstars that took their respective teams to the next level.

The 2003 NBA Draft is and will forever go down as one of the most special drafts in the history of the league. It could be argued that it was the best draft of all time, but the sheer talent in the class was one that has left prognosticators debating and going over “what if scenarios” over and over.

The prize of the class was forward LeBron James, along with players such as Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh. It wasn’t just a class that was top heavy either.

There was plenty of depth in the class that provided teams with another rotational option to build around. However, for as good as the class was, there were also some epic misses and reaches within as well.

It’s easy to look back now and determine where each player should have been picked, but it really makes you think what could have been if things were different in that draft. With that in mind, here is a re-draft of the 29 picks in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft.
