Here are five teams that could be interested in trading for Rangers forward Rick Nash.

The New York Rangers are reportedly open to trading star forward Rick Nash in order to create more cap space so that they can keep guys like J.T. Miller, Kevin Hayes, and Chris Kreider while still having enough cap space left over to upgrade their roster. Trading Nash for the sake of trading him would be an awful idea, but the Rangers can still probably get a solid return for him. They should accept nothing less than fair value in return.

Even after a down season that was plagued by injuries and awful luck, Nash is a very appealing trade candidate. He has been extremely productive at even strength throughout his career. Nash might not be too effective on the power play, but games are played primarily at even strength. He has a history of tearing it up at even strength. Teams are going to be willing to take a chance on him because of his ability to dominate.

One thing that could complicate a Nash trade is his $7.8 million cap hit. However, the Rangers can get creative, and even with that cap hit, there are at least five teams that should strongly consider trading for him. Here they are.
