Triple H has people worrying about the future of NXT given the name of the next TakeOver special amidst news of the forthcoming WWE draft and brand split

WWE shocked the professional wrestling world on Wednesday morning with the news and announcement that Smackdown would be moving to a live broadcast on Tuesdays starting in July and, with that, would come a WWE draft of talent to RAW and Smackdown and subsequently a brand split. With just the announcement that it’s happening, though, there have been more questions that answers at this point.

One of the biggest questions has been what the WWE draft and brand split means for NXT going forward. Is it going to stay the same? Will the roster get depleted to fill the rosters of two shows? Could NXT just go away completely? No one really answered these questions and, in fact, Triple H only added to the questions on Wednesday night.

Triple H announced the name of the June 8 NXT TakeOver special which will be subtitled “The End” and only fueled speculation about the future of the brand:

Though there’s an obvious finality to “The End,” that Triple H added the question of what’s next to the end of his tweet makes it seem like that’s not the cause (hopefully). However, what could “The End” be in reference to, then? Finn Balor’s time in NXT, NXT’s time on the WWE Network, or NXT in its current forms are all options and there are certainly options that aren’t listed.

This is definitely going to be an interesting two months to see the full picture of what WWE has in store for the company as a whole and specifically a brand like NXT. If nothing else, they’ve stirred up a massive discussion.
