Top college football recruits rank best, worst team uniforms
By Jason Parker
The Oregon Ducks were ranked to have the best uniforms by 100 of the top college football recruits who were surveyed, with Alabama being the worst.
In the world of college football, there are some things that make it better than other sports. The rivalries, the marching bands, the co-eds…they are all a part of making the game one of the best out there.
Part of the joy is the tradition that comes with team uniforms. You know that when you see a crimson helmet with a white number, that’s the Alabama Crimson Tide. Gold helmet with a garnet and white spear? The Florida State Seminoles. Burnt orange jerseys with white numbers? The Texas Longhorns.
As it turns out, some of the more traditional looks are not what gets high school recruits excited about a school. A survey of 100 top college football recruits reveal that many of them want to see the thousands of combinations from teams like the Oregon Ducks and Maryland Terrapins instead of the tradition of Alabama or the Penn State Nittany Lions:
It is pretty interesting that many of the schools received at least one vote in each category (Oregon, Florida State, Maryland, the Arizona State Sun Devils, Michigan Wolverines and USC Trojans).
With Alabama winning three of the last four national titles, you can take this survey with a grain of salt since most recruits are going to end up choosing a school based on what can get them to the NFL more than what looks good on their back.
